Event Steward's Handbook
The Event Steward's Handbook is a modern take on previous "Autocrat's Handbook" publications. This is a "paint by numbers guide to event management" that has been developed for groups and individuals interested in hosting SCA events of any size. The guide is intentionally generic, focusing on the concepts of event management, but also provides worksheets that aid the Event Steward in developing and running the particulars of an event.
Groups may benefit from appending local resources, references, and contact information that is relevant to that group. This provides a 'one stop shop' for everything that a new Event Steward may need:
- local site information
- local service providers (porta-potties, etc)
- contact information for group members with equipment/supplies
- other information relevant to your particular group
Event Stewards may benefit from the general overview and, for many, process review of performing the duties of an Event Steward. The handbook is laid out in such a way, and written in such a voice, to be accessable to first timers as well as seasoned pros that may just want a quick refresher. After finishing this handbook the reader should have a reasonable understanding of the role and expectations of being an Event Steward.
