The Academie d'Espee was originally created in Atlantia to replace the popular cadet system found in other kingdoms. As such, it is not as widespread as the Academie is. Despite this, there are several cadets or formal students, and their numbers have continued to grow since the Order of Defense was established. So far, only Masters of Defense have taken formal students, though this is not a hard rule and white scarves are welcome to as well as in any other kingdom. In Atlantia, formal students do not wear red scarves like cadets do as in other kingdoms. Each Master of Defense thus far has chosen their own representation for their students to wear.
