History
The Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Guild of Atlantia charter was signed at War of the Wings XV in October 2022.
Charter
We, the citizens of Atlantia, who grow, raise, and process the bounty of the Kingdom’s lands, in order to showcase, teach, learn, and continue to practice the arts and sciences on which medieval life was founded, do request that the Crowns of Atlantia approve of and give their blessing for us to form the Atlantian Guild of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry.
Purpose
- To provide a place for those with an interest in Agriculture & Animal Husbandry to exchange information with like-minded individuals.
- To share our knowledge by offering classes, instruction, and information to those seeking more knowledge about medieval agriculture and animal husbandry.
- To promote the understanding and importance of agriculture and animal husbandry to medieval life.
- To provide demonstrations or displays at events when possible, and promote the agriculture and animal husbandry related arts and sciences.
Membership
- Membership in the Atlantian Guild of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry is open to all good gentles residing within the confines of the Kingdom of Atlantia who have expressed an interest in, or furthering their knowledge in, the arts and sciences related to medieval agriculture and animal husbandry.
Ranks
- At this time there will be no ranks, but the Guild reserves the right to change that at a later day. The Guild will have badges in given fields, such as kitchen gardens, field crops, beekeeping, agricultural tools, coppicing, period animals, herbal, etc. A guild member may earn a badge in that area by submitting a request with proof of knowledge to a designated committee made up of three elected individuals.
Officers
- The Guild will have a Guild Mistress/Master and a Deputy Guild Mistress/Master. The positions will be voted on at War of the Wings or in the event that War of the Wings ceases to exist, at another event falling within the month of October. The vote may occur electronically or in person. The Guild Mistress/Master will hold the position for three years, whereupon the Deputy Guild Mistress/Master will step into the Mistress/Master position and a new Deputy will be voted on. Letters of intent for the positions will be posted on the Agriculture A&S in Atlantia Facebook Page or sent to the Guild Mistress/Master and Deputy. We reserve the right to create more officer position as the Guild grows, if the need arises.
