Þóra Hrafnsdóttir

Introduction

I wanted my persona to be from Scandinavia, and to have a non-Christian point of view on the world. So I started with 50 years before the first known report at that time of a missionary in the area, and then backed up until I liked the artwork. That turned out to be the artwork from the Oseburg ship burial, which is located not far from Kaupang.

My interests include Leatherworking, Agriculture, Equestrian, Armored Combat (youth and adult), Spinning, Herbalism, and more.

Persona

Þóra Hrafnsdóttir is from Kaupang, Vestfold, Norway, c. 825. After her partner passed away unexpectedly and their property was taken by his family, she went viking/raiding for several years to rebuild her wealth (in SCA terms, heavy fighter & squire). After that she settled in Kaupang and plys various trades for income, including leatherwork and spinning. She also keeps some livestock - a few chickens and sheep, and a horse ( = IRL, I volunteer at a barn that has all of these animals. I use the feathers, wool, etc, in my A&S and crafts).
