Consort of Atlantia

The Consort of Atlantia is the partner of the Sovereign who is currently reigning over Atlantia. They are addressed as "Your Majesty" or "Your Royal Majesty" and referred to in the third person as "Queen/King/Consort (given name)," depending on gender. They may wear a crown to indicate their rank. They are the person for whom the Sovereign fought in the crown tournament.

Royalty is claimed through "Right of Arms" (armored combat). Consorts are selected twice a year at the Spring and Fall Crown Tournaments. The consort of the winner of the Crown Tournament becomes the Heir Apparent (the Consort's Heir). This means when the reigning Consort steps down, they will be next to be crowned Consort, at which time they will rule for approximately six (6) months.

Those who have reigned as Consort are inducted into The Order of the Rose upon completion of their reign. A Count or Countess is a person who has reigned as Consort once. A Duke or Duchess is a person who has reigned as Consort more than once.
