Introduction

Esperanza Susanna Flecha joined the SCA in the year 2000, in the Kingdom of Artemisia. Becoming active again in 2004 after moving to the Kingdom of Atlantia, she attended her first Pennsic in 2005, and started an archery career shortly after. She changed from shooting a longbow and recurve bow to a crossbow in 2010. Her claim to fame is being the first woman Grand Bowman Elite, in the Kingdom of Atlantia, achieving a Royal Round Score of 102.6 in September 2010.

She started as a Baronial Scribe in 2011, eventually making Kingdom scrolls as well. She continued to make scrolls, though less scrolls while landed Baroness of the Barony of Stierbach, in the Kingdom of Atlantia starting in June of 2012. Exclusive pen and ink scrolls started in 2013, using period exemplars to make reproduction images of woodcuts, engraving, etchings and drawings. She branched out to other artistic mediums with her first chalk scroll in 2020, her first Silverpoint scroll in 2021, with a fascination starting with ink washes, charcoal and chalk, but still continued to use ink and a nib with some pieces.

She has served as Barony of Stierbach Archery Marshal, Exchequer, Seneschal and Baronage. Esperanza proudly served as His Royal Majesty Ragnarr Blackhammer's Archery Champion in 2018/2019 and also supported King Ragnarr and Queen Lynette as a retainer at events. She has served as Court Secretary for TRH's/TRM's Prince/King Anton Tremayne and Princess/Queen Luned Snowdon from November 2019 until June 2021, where she continued to serve as Court Secretary for TRH's/TRM's Prince/King Eckehard Thurn and Princess/Queen Jane Alexandria Fitzpatrick from June 2021 until April 2022. As of June 2023 she is currently serving as Court Secretary for TRH's/TRM's Ragnarr and Mary Isabel.

She continues to serve her Kingdom, Barony and Canton, becoming a Mistress of the Pelican in January 2020 and continues her Art, becoming a Mistress of the Laurel in 2021 and was added to the Order of the Nonpareil April 2024.

• I do not have a Persona. I like too many different cultures and time periods!
• My registered name is Portuguese.
• I have been known to wear German Peasant and German Landsknecht garb. Who doesn't love Big Hats? Who doesn't love codpieces when dressed in men's garb?
• I have been known to wear Turkish Ottoman in the summer. Who doesn't love shooting their Crossbow in pants?
• I started Scribal and Illuminations doing more macabre scrolls, thinking maybe some might like something a little more hardcore. My first scroll was based on a "Mouth of Hell" from the Hours of Catherine of Cleves.
• I have learned silverpoint (metalpoint) and pen & ink techniques so that not only is the image documentable but the execution is as well
• I have had obsession with ink washes and currently charcoal sketches and chalk sketches and now pastels
