The Poeta Atlantiae is chosen for excellence in composition of poetry in at least two period forms.

Suggested goals are: providing entertainment for the Crown, working with branch officers to encourage growth of poetry, sponsoring poetry competitions, and teaching in such venues as are available and reasonable.

Selection and Tenure

The Poeta Atlantiae is appointed by royal whim at Kingdom A&S Festival to a term of one year. At the end of their term they are expected to hold a competition at the following Kingdom A&S Festival in order to aid the Crown in picking the poet that will succeed them.
