The Brass Spike is a traveling token similar to the Atlantian "Iron Spike" and Iron Ring found in other kingdoms. The token is held by a single fighter who accepts challenges to SCA Cut & Thrust combat; if the challenger prevails, they take possession of the Brass Spike and become its new bearer. Its purpose is to highlight prowess in Cut & Thrust fighting in the Kingdom of Atlantia and to encourage its proliferation.
Rules
- The Brass Spike is for C&T only.
- You cannot hold the Brass Spike and the Iron Spike at the same time.
- You must be an Atlantian to challenge and hold the Brass Spike. Challenges may happen at any event with fighting, regardless of location.
- The holder shall accept at least 3 challenges per day at official events with fighting. Exceptions to the minimum number of challenges:
- The holder is injured and unable to fight at that event.
- The holder is the Rapier Marshal in Charge or Marshal in Charge of the event.
- The holder is the Event Steward.
- The weather and/or field conditions are unsafe.

- Case of Swords
- Two Handed Sword
- Challenges are limited to the C&T categories both fighters are authorized in and are listed under Rule 5.
- The challenger and the holder of the Brass Spike shall not repeat a C&T category until the 3rd pass.
- The winner of 2 of 3 of the passes is the holder of the Brass Spike.
- Should the challenger be successful in obtaining the Brass Spike, they shall not take new challengers for the remainder of that day.
- For multi-day events, each new day means that new challenges must be accepted, unless one of the exceptions under Rule 4 apply.
- The event name, date, all challengers, and all results shall be recorded in the book.
- Holders of the Brass Spike shall make others publicly aware of which events they will be attending in order to facilitate receiving challenges.
- The holder of the Brass Spike shall hold a tournament to determine the next holder of the Brass Spike if they:
- Still possess the Brass Spike one calendar year from the date they acquired it.
- Successfully defend the Brass Spike against 30 consecutive challengers.
- Have not received a challenge for the Brass Spike in the last 6 months.
- Are injured and unable to fight for at least 3 months.

- The holder shall not participate in the tournament.
- The tournament shall be held as soon as is convenient.
- The format of the tournament shall be at the discretion of the holder.
