Saluting traditions have evolved somewhat over the years and differ from area to area. The notes below reflect a current (as of the time of this writing) collection of the protocols for saluting, 'in general', within Atlantia. For information on other Atlantian traditions, see the [[Traditions]] page.

= Who salutes and when? =
These can vary from marshal to event to region. In some places, it is standard to do a full round of salutes before each and every bout. In other places, you may give full salutes in the first round of a tourney, later 'remembering honors previously given'. In still other situations you may have a mass salute and then just move on into the fights. It really does vary by the situation. If you are a marshal working the field then you should receive instructions from the discipline marshal in charge for how they would like the field to run.
