	I started out in the SCA in 2008, because I wanted to alter my Halloween costume. No, really it was WAAY back in the day in High School, probably 1984. I don't know where I ran across the SCA, but I remember telling my D&D group about it. But WAAY back in the day, we didn't have Internet, so there was no way to find these people! So, back to 2008. I wanted to alter my Halloween costume and who better to give me advice on a 'medieval princess' costume than the SCA?! I found the local group, the Barony of Highland Foorde. I contacted Lady Margaret, the local Chatelaine, who invited me to a stitching project day. I went, but got no answers to my garb question. Then I attended some meetings. At one meeting I heard people complaining about the kids being kids, during an event. This made me angry, because kids are active little buggers and need stuff to do to "stay out of the way". So I decided to do something about it. I became the Chancellor Minor for the Barony of Highland Foorde, AKA Youth Officer. 	I picked my name as I had found in a book the name Jacintha as the wife of Constantin Bodin of Servia and Dalmatia. She was the daughter of Johann Argyros, in the time of the Norman Invasion in Bari Italy. My "story" for my 12th century persona, in the Courts of Eleanor of Acquitaine, is that my father went to the first crusade with William. As far as I can tell there was one survivor who returned. I was named for that Queen of Constantin Bodin, whom that survivor would have seen when they stayed with the King. I've seen her name as Jakvinta and other various spellings.		I picked my name as I had found in a book the name Jacintha as the wife of Constantin Bodin of Servia and Dalmatia. Yes, I went about it backwards! Don't most people?!		But the name REALLY came from playing D&D games as a kid. My modern name is Cynthia and Jacintha was the perfect D&D name. 			I later went on to become a Minister of the List, because I can push paper with the best of them! I also went on to become the Dean of Pages and finally the Chancellor of Family and Youth Programs, for the Kingdom of Atlantia.

			Right now, I'm re-inventing myself. I've recently re-trained as an MOL and am looking into the [http://yafa.sca.org/ YAFA program] to see how I can continue to teach kids and families about the SCA.
